Goodbye Lady Liberty

17 Jun

100_5018Before officially leaving the United States, we spent the weekend in New York City.  While we were there, we went to Central Park and saw Trump Towers, but the coolest thing we did was go to the Statue of Liberty.  I had been to the Statue of Liberty before, but the other people we were with had not, and none of my kids had ever been, so we decided it would be worth the trip.  While we were there, I realized that this symbol is the one usually seen on one’s entry into the United States, and not necessarily on one’s exit.  However, it was fitting for us.  We said goodbye to the United States by saying goodbye to Lady Liberty.
